About
Alison Sahmel is a master chromist and printmaker with over 25 years of experience in fine art silkscreen. Her career spans formative years at Pace Prints and a decade at Two Palms, where she collaborated with artists like Chuck Close, Elizabeth Peyton, Chris Ofili, and Cecily Brown.
In 2019, she founded Pegasus Prints, a Brooklyn-based studio known for its inventive processes and meticulous craftsmanship. Today, while the studio is on pause, Pegasus continues as the platform for Sahmel’s independent chromist practice—supporting artists, publishers, and institutions in translating artwork into print with care, complexity, and clarity.
Her contributions have been featured in major publications, museum exhibitions, and collaborations with leading galleries and brands.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do. Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
